Ray Comfort's ongoing lies and plagiarism.

Hey -- guess what! I caught Ray Comfort in yet another tangled web of lies and plagiarism!

Shocked? Neither am I.

Over the past week, Ray has been leading a very cherry-picked study of the Book of Job, which used to be my favorite book in the Bible, followed very closely by The Book of Esther. In June 2009, I wrote my own study on the Book of Job, and gave you my personal opinion on what the book is really about -- a fictional tale of an innocent man who lost nearly everything, including his children, as a result from a cosmic pissing contest between Jehovah and Satan.

True to form, Ray would have you believe that he's more of an astrophysicist than Stephen Hawking, conveniently skirting the overwhelming evidence that supports the Big Bang theory. In his blogpost on Thursday, June 28th, Ray resumes his arrogance and smug sense of superiority by inferring that those of us who do not subscribe to his spiritual point of view have "a few intellectual problems."

He goes on asking questions that have already been answered hundreds if not thousands of times, but Ray just keeps ignoring the answers. Yet Ray continues, "What was in the beginning? What produced this huge, incredible natural world in which we live? If you say it was the 'big bang,' then where did the materials come from to make the big bang? If the Big Bang was the product, who or what was the producer?" Ray has received answers to these questions repeatedly and he knows it, but like a terrified puppy, he just runs with his tail tucked firmly between his legs.

Something about Ray's writing at this particular post didn't feel right. Not that it ever does, mind you. But I just had a feeling the words I read weren't his. I copied just one sentence from that post, pasted it into Google, and hit enter. Sure enough, I was right.

When Ray talks about science, his audience, Christian or non-Christian, must research what he says because when he speaks on matters of science, he lies. All the time. I don't just mean some of the time -- I mean all of the time. Ray likely lifted the forementioned sentence from this article written by Fraser Cain, publisher of Universe Today, and co-host of the AstronomyCast podcast. I could beat Cain with a wet trout for a week due to his shoddy writing; Cain should know better. Cain's article is based on this paper published in Astronomy and Astrophysics, May 2011.

Ray:
"Sound travels in waves as does light and heat, but unlike light and heat, sound moves by making molecules vibrate. So, for sound to travel anywhere there must be molecules for it to travel. Sound travels on earth to our ears by vibrating air molecules, but there are no molecules in space."
Fraser:
"Sound travels in waves like light or heat does, but unlike them, sound travels by making molecules vibrate. So, in order for sound to travel, there has to be something with molecules for it to travel through. On Earth, sound travels to your ears by vibrating air molecules. In deep space, the large empty areas between stars and planets, there are no molecules to vibrate."
Ray was then properly educated by the guests at his blog about cosmology and physics, which he will probably ignore. I'm still waiting for his response to my question regarding the source is for his claims.

Having my suspicions confirmed that Ray is a plagiarist, I did a simple Google search on Ray's plagiarism, and even I was a bit surprised at how much of this clown's work is not his. You may recall that in 2009, Ray pulled a stunt by releasing his version of Charles Darwin's "The Origin of Species". In Ray's bastardized version, he offered a brief biography of Darwin. As it turns out, large portions of the introduction were lifted from a paper entitled "A Brief History of Charles Darwin" written by Dr. Stan Guffey, Ph.D., professor of biology at the University of Tennessee. Read more about this story here.

They don't call it the Information Age for nothing, Ray. All I have to do to learn about any topic is punch in a few words and entire digital libraries are at my fingertips. Why, then, do you think that you're the only person who's smart enough to use a search engine? How stupid do you think the rest of us are?

We all know that you're a cowardly, lying, thief, Ray. By your own admission, lying thieves will be sent on a one-way ticket to Hell. Are you willing to finally face your opponents, look them in the eye, and admit that you're a charlatan? Have you ever apologized to Cain, Guffey, or anybody else for presenting their work as your own?

For a person who implores us to examine a religion you claim is the ultimate guide to morality, which condemns lying and stealing, why do you resort to these things, Ray? Do you ever feel even slightly ashamed for your intellectual dishonesty?

To the followers of this charlatan, how much of his intellectual feces are you going to eagerly consume while ignoring the fact that Ray is a liar? You readily accuse atheists and agnostics of being lying thieves without evidence, but you don't dare raise an accusatory finger at somebody who actually deserves it like Ray. A child could tell you that Ray's a lying thief, but grown adults give him carte blanche for no other reason than he professes the same faith that you do. If you know he's a liar, and you still refer to him is a good Christian, you're just as much of a liar as he is.

Here are some cosmological and astrophysical terms for Ray, other creationists, and even Fraser Cain to research:
For a list of Ray's lies, click here.

Just for fun, watch the video below to see just how much of a dishonest, hypocritical douchebag Ray really is.

Abraham and Jephthah: Yahweh's great contradiction

Ask any Christian if the Bible is an accurate description of God's character, more than likely they will answer yes. If you ask them if genocide, slavery, rape, abortion and theft are morally reprehensible, they'll also likely answer yes. But when you offer them evidence that not only are these acts are approved by Yahweh but commanded, they'll do one of several things -- deny the evidence, give God carte blanche (he's God and he can do what he wants, might makes right, i.e.), respond "But that's the Old Testament. Jesus changed things," or if they're truly honest, begin questioning the veracity of the Bible.

Like many religions that were developed throughout Mesopotamia, Judeo-Christianity and Judaism embrace the concept of human and animal sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin. One would think that there is a better way for God to forgive sin than to spill innocent blood since he's omniscient. In reality, early Christians likely lifted the concept of blood sacrifice from Mithraism, which is said to have been born from Zoroastrianism. As astronomer E.C. Krupp states in his book, Beyond the Blue Horizon: Myths and Legends of the Sun, Moon, Stars and Planets:

"We don't know at what point in the year Mithras slaughtered the bull, and we don't know when this mythical act was reenacted in the Mithraic grottoes to baptize initiates in the blood of the bull. But the depictions of sacrifice displayed in the chapels are entirely consistent with the astronomical circumstances of a specific night, just after sunset, in spring."

Krupp confirms that Mithraic rituals of blood sacrifice and baptism were alive and well before the advent of Christianity. He also confirms another very subtle but strong relation between Christianity and worship of celestial bodies. It is interesting to note that Mithras' birthday was celebrated on December 25th as, by default, he was one of the embodiments of Sol Invictus, the Unconquered Sun. It is also interesting to note that a key tenet of Mithraic tradition was ritual meals, not unlike that of Christian communion.

While human/animal sacrifice is nothing new, there are two prime examples that can be found in the Old Testament -- the stories of Abraham and Jephthah. Of these two, the story of Abraham's desire to slay his own son as an act of obedience to Jehovah, is the most prominent. But the story of Jephthah is not so well-known. Not surprisingly, many Christians have never heard of Jephthah.

Jephthah, as the Book of Judges illustrates, was a warrior that served as a judge in Israel for six years. Jephthah led the Israelites in a battle against the Ammonites. But before the battle began, Jephthah prayed to Jehovah, asking for an assured victory in exchange for the first thing that walked out of his house to greet him after the battle. Jephthah's only daughter was the first to exit his house upon his return, exuberant and dancing with tambourines. Horrified, Jephthah told her that he had made an oath to God that couldn't be broken, and that she needed to be sacrificed.

She asked for two months of isolation with her friends because had never known marriage. At the end of those two months, Jephthah slew his only daughter, a virgin, of course.

At the opposite end of the sacrificial spectrum stands Abraham and his then only son, Isaac. The story takes places in Genesis 22:1-19 when Jehovah calls out to Abraham and instructs him to take Isaac to a mountain where he will be sacrificed. Abraham immediately obeys and sets out for the wilderness along with his son. At no point does the text say anything about Abraham questioning Jehovah's request, which I find rather interesting. Even the New Testament tells us that Jesus begged God to reconsider letting his blood spill. But no request can be found from Abraham.

After walking through the wilderness for three days, they finally arrive at the place where Isaac is to be slain. Isaac begins inquiring where the sacrificial lamb is, but Abraham insists that God will provide a lamb very soon. Finally, Abraham binds Isaac and lays him onto a makeshift alter.

Try to imagine binding your only son as he struggles, clawing, fighting and screaming, wondering why you're trying to plunge a knife into his neck. I can't help but wonder at what point a man would tell Jehovah that he's not worthy of worship, that he is an utterly horrible deity, and that the only way he could have his son is by going through himself first.

Just as Abraham raises his knife above Isaac's body, the angel the lord suddenly prevents Abraham from following through. Genesis 22:12 states "Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son."

Many, if not most, evangelicals believe that this particular angel is Jesus himself. The inevitable question then should leap out to the astute reader, isn't God omniscient? If so, then he should know that Abraham truly fears him. As a matter of fact, he should have known that Abraham feared him millions of years before he was born. Why then does this particular angel say, "Now I know that you fear God"?

Many Christians will say that their god would never accept any human sacrifice, particularly virgin sacrifice, other than that of Jesus, which when you think about it, really wasn't a sacrifice at all. As Matt Dillahunty once said, "At least when Elvis died for my sins he stayed dead." But as we read the text in Judges, we do know that Yahweh is willing to accept human sacrifice.

So there are two great contradictions here that few Christians will ever accept. The first of these is that they will say their god is omniscient, but the text in Genesis 22 proves otherwise. The second contradiction is that, assuming Yahweh really is omniscient, he could see millions of years in advance before Abraham ever raised a knife above his son's body, he would send his angel to stop it. If this is true, then he certainly had the ability to stop Jephthah from slaying his only daughter. He had three days to stop Abraham and prevented him from going through with Isaac's sacrifice, but had two months to stop Jephthah from sacrificing his daughter, yet chose not to.

Most Christians, no doubt, will either ignore this or rationalize in some way that Jephthah's daughter really wasn't sacrificed at all. Or, if they do accept the evidence at face value, will claim that there is a greater plan in God's vision than we can see. Yet, for all the biblical doctrine they know (which is actually very little), they will never state what that reason is. They would rather proclaim that it's a mystery to us and only God knows why, adding yet one more piece of evidence why their god is immoral.

One further addition to this problem for Yahweh is that not only does he condone lying, he actually rewards it. Starting in Genesis 22:7-8 we read:

Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?"
Yes, my son?" Abraham replied.
"The fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went on together."

The only reason these two journeyed into the mountains is so that Abraham could sacrifice Isaac. At no point did he expect God to intervene, nor did he expect a lamb as a substitute for Isaac. The reward for Abraham, as Genesis states, was that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars, which we know is false.

Glenn Beck mocks humanity

Just when I think Glenn Beck couldn't sink any lower depth of depravity and inhumanity, he proves me wrong. Again.

On September 29th, firefighters in South Fulton, TN refused to respond to a call to put out a fire that burned Gene Cranick's house to the ground. The local fire chief, David Wilds, stated that the reason no firefighters were dispatched is that he refused to pay an annual $75.00 fee for fire services. Cranick stated that he forgot to pay the fee. In reality, it doesn't matter whether he Cranick forgot to pay the fee or not. Also, the town's mayor, David Crocker (Republican, of course), is reported to have said "You're out of luck" to Cranick. Later that day, Cranick's son sustained an injury to his hand after knocking the living daylights out of Wilds.

Wilds' response to the whole situation? It was a "stressful" and "emotional" day. Cry for me. At least you and Crocker still have a house to live in.

Enter Glenn, who, along with trusty sidekick Pat Gray, mocked Cranick.

I seem to remember Beck talking about the finer points of "faith, hope and charity, the essential teachings of Christ." Where is your heart for charity now, Glenn? More importantly, where are the hearts of firefighters who took an oath to protect life and property, only to watch a fire burn down with three dogs and one cat inside? I can understand a filthy-rich, right-wing coward like Beck having no heart, but to be a firefighter and watch a house burn down?

I took the liberty to browse the Obion County website for directives of this stupid, inhuman policy that county executives have implemented. I came across this pdf and read this:

"The only rural property owners guaranteed to receive fire protection services are those who choose to pay for it. It they choose not to purchase an annual subscription and require fire protection services, they fall on the mercy of a municipal department who provide services on an as needed basis. When such occurs, the responding fire department normally provides those services without compensation."

In other words, David Wilds is a cold-hearted prick who simply chose not to do the right thing. Case closed. Also, although I can't find a reliable source, apparently Obion County firefighters must respond to calls, regardless of whether the $75.00 fee was paid or not. This story should never have made local news, other than firefighters were dispatched to put out a fire at the Cranick residence.

Anyway, I'm proud to live in a country where citizens in financially distressed areas are forced to pay a subscription fee in order to enjoy safety and security when it should be assumed as a common service to all, regardless of income.

What more should we expect?

You may have heard recently that right-wing cretin, Newt Gingrich, released a book in which he claims he has moral high ground over the rest of us because he has God on his side. Keep in mind, this is the same man (using the term very loosely) who cheated on his first wife and summarily left her when she was bed-ridden with cancer. He went on to marry that woman, only to cheat on her as well with his current wife, Calista Bisek.

Fast forward to August 10 - Esquire magazine published a scorching tell-all about Newt from his second wife.

In an interview with Christianity Today in April of last year, Newt said "The Democratic Party has been the active instrument of breaking down traditional marriage..." Two failed marriages filled with infidelity. Moral high ground? Oh, I don't think so.

If you're a Christian or even a Republican, can you vote for this man next November with a clean conscience? Luckily for Newt, most conservative Christians are quick to sweep dirty little secrets under the rug.

Update: Yes, Mark, you are a moron.

Well, it wasn't even more than a span of an evening before the commentary I left at Mark William's blog was deleted.

Poor Mark. I can't imagine what it must be like to be so smug in his sense of superiority, thinking everyone else is a complete numbskull, when he couldn't find his own ass with both hands.

For you teabaggers who revere this man, please observe the screen captures below:

And just today, I delivered another response and got the same result:

The truth hurts, Mark, but you might want to embrace it every once in a while.

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

Yes, Mark, you are a moron.

At one time, I considered myself a bit of a libertarian, and in someways I suppose I still am. Lately, I've becoming increasingly leery, even frightened, of the type of libertarian who advocates personal freedom at any cost. But I'm simply annoyed by the type of libertarian who lays the problems of all mankind at the feet of government, without even lifting a finger to do any research on any topic.

Enter Mark Williams - libertarian, teabagger, and organizer of Tea Party Express.

I was listening to the Thom Hartmann program today on the way home from work. His guest was none other than Mark Williams, who took exception to a tax on tanning beds to help pay for HR 3962. Mark took special exception because he suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), and uses a tanning bed to treat his condition, and thinks that not only does it unfairly tax whites who to trying to get a tan, but those who suffer from SAD as well. But if that weren't enough, Mark goes on to say that this tax is an attack on white people by Barack Obama, who Mark calls the "Racist-in-Chief".

Mark says on his blog, "Never once have I ever seen a genetically brown or black person use an indoor tanning facility."

What?! Black people don't go to tanning facilities? Shocking!

I spent little more than five minutes researching the tax in question, and learned that people like Mark will not be subject to tanning bed tax, after all. The IRS website reveals the details of the tanning bed tax:
"A 10-percent excise tax on indoor UV tanning services goes into effect on July 1, 2010. The tax doesn't apply to phototherapy performed by a licensed medical professional on his or her premises."
Anyway, listen to Mark make an utter fool of himself as Thom hands his rear end to him. Hit play:

And yes, Mark - the Tea Party movement reeks of racism:

By the way, nice little picture you got there, Mark. A bit like the pot calling the kettle black, don't you think, Mark?

No pun intended.

Update: Tea Party protestors show their true colors

Just as I predicted last Sunday, not only did the right-wing nutjobs at Fox News not condemn the racist attacks by some teabaggers toward some members of the Congressional Black Caucus on March 20th, they simply denied these events ever happened.

Before I go on I have to make a disclaimer. I don't have the time nor the ability to listen to the right-wing pundits like Beck, Limbaugh, and Hannity on a daily basis, so there is a possibility that they could have condemned them but I missed it. And to be honest, the only reason I ever do give them a listen is to keep my anger for right-wing jackassery burning bright. Besides, unlike the aforementioned, I actually work for a living.

Anyway, I've searched for the better part of an hour today for any evidence that right-wing talking heads actually condemned the hate-fest that took part last week. I haven't been able to find anything. The best they can do is brush aside events from the 20th while reminding us that members of the far left often take part in violent activities. Meanwhile, during last night's "O'Reilly Factor" Laura Ingraham said that there was no evidence that anyone spit on Emanuel Cleaver on March 20th.

Fair and balanced, huh?

And what does Limbaugh have to say? "Let me ask you a question. When is the last time you can recall a bunch of conservatives having a riot?" They don't have to have a riot, Rush. They just blow off cops' heads off with an AK-47.

Republicans are crying foul against progressives and Democrats after a bullet went through a window in Eric Cantor's office in Richmond, VA. Cantor said that he was "directly threatened". As it turns out, the bullet was errant, and not intentionally fired into Cantor's office. Time will tell if he does the right thing and apologizes. Meanwhile, House Democrats continue to be the target of violence and hatred. Applause to John Boehner for condemning such violence.

In related news, hoards of the gun-toting fearful will arrive in D.C. on April 19th, of all days. Nice timing, guys. What possible outcome you clowns are hoping to achieve is way beyond me.

Stay tuned.

Update: Hahaha!

A week ago I told you that creators of this poll weren't getting the reaction they wanted, so they pulled it down. They put it back up, and it still wasn't getting the reaction they wanted. Today we find that they moved the goalposts yet again. Read the options from the first poll from January 22, then read the ones from today (below), and you tell me who's being dishonest.

Since they changed the questions again, I took the liberty of voting again. You shouldn't be surprised that the results of the poll have more or less stayed the same.

Christians torturing and murdering children in Africa.

Why are Christians torturing and murdering children in Nigeria? Because they're witches, of course! Do these Christians need actual proof that these kids are witches? Of course not!

Fundies in Africa are taking Exodus 22:18 to heart. It states, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live."

I had a bit of a tussle recently with an individual named Isaiah over at Ray's blog. Isaiah, who goes by the handle, God Sent, tried to convince me that the Bible is the end-all, be-all guide to morality. But whenever I posed him with a couple of simple questions to reveal his hypocrisy, he ran away.

If you're reading this, Isaiah, I want you to explain to me again how Judeo-Christianity is the foundation of morality after a bunch of brainwashed, fundamentalist murderers used the Bible as justification for their crimes. Against children, no less.

Even if you're not Isaiah, and you're a Christian, can you explain this to me?

Please?

More FNC bias

The Fox News goon squad was out in full force this week after Glenn Beck's 9/12 demonstrations held in DC. In an interview on Fox and Friends with hosts Steve Doocy and Gretchen Carlson, Beck stated that 1.7 million protesters showed up. The stupidity of these people has been elevated to dizzying heights. If you want a good sample of the kinds of people that were at the rally, hit the play button.

Anyway, there's been a small spark of controversy that arose after comments made by Beck during an interview on Fox and Friends, in which he stated there were 1.7 million protesters at the demonstration. He stated that a university, which somehow mysteriously eluded his memory, confirmed these numbers. Along with hosts Steve Doocy and Gretchen Carlson, Beck verbally groped each other in a feel good celebration of complete lunacy.

But what caught my attention during the interview wasn't whether or not Beck had a brain fart. It was Doocy who stole the show when he asked, "Since when is it okay in this country, you only can agree with the president, and you can't dissent?" Beck responded, "Since January 20th? I mean I've never seen anything like this."

Now Doocy and Beck are concerned about the First Amendment? They supported the lie of WMDs in Iraq by the Bush administration that lead to the deaths of over 4,000 soldiers and over 100,000 dead Iraqis, and added $900 billion to the national debt, all the while trashing people who dissented from the war. Not to mention the fact that they compare Obama to Hitler, coloring the president as a Nazi and a racist. Sad. So sad.

Nice try, guys. I suggest you go grab a coloring book and some crayons and have fun.

Here's your crow, Mr. Wilson.

By now everyone who pays any attention at all to politics has heard about the uproar regarding the commentary that Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC...shock) made during the speech that President Obama was giving last week over health care reform. "You lie!" he yelled at the president, in response to the president's claim that his health care reform did not cover illegal immigrants. He apologized the very next day. But as is typical of Repubs these days, Wilson's attack has no credibility.

Meanwhile, Limbaugh is upset with Wilson because of his apology, and also believes that the president is lying. Hit the play button:

Limbaugh again opens his mouth when he should do Americans a huge favor and nail it shut. But I have to thank Rush because he just keeps on making his own party look ridiculously inept. Here's why.

In 2003, the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003 was introduced on the House floor. The bill authorized federally funded health care for illegal immigrants. It was unanimously passed by both the House and the Senate, and President Bush signed it into law on December 8, 2003. The interesting part is, Joe Wilson voted for it.

So, open up wide, Rush and Mr. Wilson. Your crow is ready.

One more right-wing religious nutjob.

First it was Wiley Drake. Then it was Gordon Klingenschmitt. Now it's this guy. Meet Steven L. Anderson. He's the pastor and founder of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, AZ. He's also a first-rate ass clown.

Anderson is just one more in a growing trend of hate-filled zombies of the far religious right that wishes death upon anyone who doesn't subscribe to their point of view. He also says that homosexuals should get the death penalty. As typical of the far right, his target of choice is President Obama.

Last month Anderson told his congregation that he wishes the president would get "brain cancer so he can die like Ted Kennedy," then go to hell. Big words coming from a man who hides behind God while fomenting his brand of hatred.

In an interview with KSAZ Fox News 10 in Phoenix, AZ, he said "I will not take the law into my own hands. I will not take up any arms. It's a spiritual battle. It's a spiritual warfare."

He may not take up any arms, but members of his congregation sure will. His parishioners show up at his church frequently with sidearms on their hips. Take this guy for example. His name is Chris Broughton. Yep, he's the same guy that brought a loaded AR-15 to a convention center in Phoenix where the president was holding a town hall meeting last month. In a recent interview on the Alex Jones Show, Broughton said of Anderson's church, "It's the best church in the world."

These people are scary, folks. They perform a very delicate balancing act between the Constitution and terrorism. They're not afraid of death. They're not afraid of jail. They have only one agenda - stop President Obama and anyone who disagrees with them, and Jesus will reward them in heaven. That's what makes them so dangerous. They're one brain lapse away from a killing spree sparked by insanity brought on by their own version of Christianity.

Anderson is allowed to say that he hates Barack Obama. He can say every wicked thing in the world that he wants to about the man. But when he mentions that he prays for Barack Obama to die in one of his sermons, and the very next day one of his brainwashed minions shows up within firing range of the president with an AR-15, something needs to be done.

Stripping his church of 503c status is just the start, if indeed his church enjoys such status. This psychopath needs to be investigated and haunted by the Feds 24-7. I'm no fan of George Bush by any stretch of the imagination, but I have never wished death upon him.

I'm tired of neo-conservative, religious zealots like Anderson wielding the Bible as justification for their own fiery brand of hatred. Dirtbags like Anderson, Drake, and Klingenschmitt love to cherry pick verses from the Bible to support their very specific point of view. But you'll never hear them mention verses like 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Matthew 5:44, or Ephesians 6:12, that says our fight isn't against the flesh of men, but spiritual powers. Nor will you hear them mention any of the verses that say God alone puts men in positions of authority.

Watch Anderson spew his hatred below. Hit play.

Ah, Reagan!

For all you so-called "conservatives" out there, I just came across this little tidbit from the...ermm...*ahem*...Great Orator himself.

Speaking on behalf of members of the mujahideen, who later became Al Qaeda, on the White House lawn in 1985, he said:

"These gentleman are the moral equivalents of America's founding fathers."

Um, hey Sean? Since you love Reagan so much, who left us $2 trillion in debt by the way, would you like to explain why he was praising the very people who would later become our enemies and murder 3,000 innocent people? Hmm?

Rush?

Quinn?

Rose?

Glenn?

Bill?

Anyone?

God is pro-life...supposedly.

I was driving through Bloomsburg last evening when I was passed by a car with the bumper sticker you see to the left. I laughed.

If you're a Christian, you need to understand that it's possible to not believe in Jesus and be pro-life, no matter what the far-right fundies tell you. It is also possible to be a Christian and be pro-choice. However, the biggest pro-choice advocate in the world is Jesus himself. I know that's hard for you to believe, but it's true, and I'm going to prove it to you.

Read the following verses. Think about them, be honest, and ask yourself if the god you serve is truly pro-life.

"Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."

Numbers 31:17-18

------------------------------

"And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land. Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz. And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:"

Deuteronomy 2:31-34

------------------------------

"And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:"

Deuteronomy 28:53

------------------------------

"Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass."

1 Samuel 15:3

------------------------------

"And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them."

2 Kings 2:23-25

------------------------------

"And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child."

2 Kings 8:12

------------------------------

"Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up."

2 Kings 15:16

------------------------------

"O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stone."

Psalms 137:9

------------------------------

"Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished."

Isaiah 13:16

------------------------------

"Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children."

Isaiah 13:18

------------------------------

"Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?"

Lamentations 2:20

------------------------------

"Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house."

Ezekiel 9:6

------------------------------

"Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts."

Hosea 9:14

------------------------------

Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

Hosea 13:16

I know many of you will try to justify the actions of your god by stating something to the gist of, "Well, it's God, so he can do whatever he wants"..."These people were picking on God's people, so they had it coming"..."Burn in hell, you God-hating, anti-American, leftist scum!"..."You're taking the Bible out of context." But how you can take smashing a baby's head against a boulder over and over and over out of context is beyond me. Hate is hate, evil is evil, and killing an innocent child, regardless of religion or political affiliation is the greatest evil of all.

But ask yourself, if Jesus told you to go forth into someone else's land and kill their children, would you do it? If you say yes, you're in dire need of psychological help.

A message for Ted Nugent

Ted,

Like most right-wing troglodytes who consider themselves the apex of the American ideal, you reveal your utter ignorance of patriotism and what it truly means to be an American. Running around in a 4x4 donned in a Native American head dress and war paint while blowing a squirrel away with a .50 cal doesn't make you an American, let alone a man. Hate speech has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment, and the 2nd Amendment doesn't mean owning an entire arsenal of weapons.

While perusing the net tonight I came across this picture. I knew you were a bottom feeder of the Republican party who panders to the drones of the far right wing, but this is sad.

Unlike yourself, Ted, I didn't dodge service to my country. I served in the United States Air Force from 1995 to 2003, therefore I reserve the right to tell you to stop wiping your ass with the flag I helped defend. United States Code, Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8d states:

The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.

Thanks for kicking all of us veterans, POWs, MIAs, and KIAs in the stomach, Ted.

Sean Hannity: A spineless liar since 1961

There are a lot of sheeple in America. The latest cable news ratings by Nielsen prove it.

I hear so much from the right-wing talking heads about patriotism and truth-telling these days that it hurts my brain. I respect differences of opinion so long as no one is hurt, killed, or lies aren't handed out like bad checks. But there are times that the bullshit gets so deep, and the truth so stretched, you have to say something about it.

Take Sean Hannity, for example - the biggest liar Fix News has to offer. Sean's a lonely little man that can't help but attack the current president while fellating the former president every chance he gets. Sean banks his success on the hope that his audience is too stupid to do any real research that proves him wrong. As if attacking the president for recently ordering a cheeseburger with brown mustard wasn't lame enough, he continues to label Obama as a 9/11 sympathizer and a Muslim. There's no proof that Obama is any of this, but does Sean let that stop him? Hell no!

In the clip below, Sean attacks the president by claiming he "decided to give 9-11 sympathizers a voice on the world stage."

No, Sean, he didn't...

"He went on to imply to the foreign audience in Cairo that the U.S. is a nation that tortures."

Sadly, Sean, we do...

"Iraq was a war of choice."

It was a war of choice, Sean. Even the former veep finally admitted to this.

Watch Sean lie his arse off in the clip below. Hit play:

What the little coward isn't tell you is the rest of Obama's speech:
"The situation in Afghanistan demonstrates America's goals, and our need to work together. Over seven years ago, the United States pursued al Qaeda and the Taliban with broad international support. We did not go by choice; we went because of necessity. I'm aware that there's still some who would question or even justify the events of 9/11. But let us be clear: Al Qaeda killed nearly 3,000 people on that day. The victims were innocent men, women and children from America and many other nations who had done nothing to harm anybody. And yet al Qaeda chose to ruthlessly murder these people, claimed credit for the attack, and even now states their determination to kill on a massive scale. They have affiliates in many countries and are trying to expand their reach. These are not opinions to be debated; these are facts to be dealt with."
So where is the outrage from the right regarding Sean's lying, trashing of public schools, falsely claiming that Obama said we're a Muslim nation, and petty bickering about choice of mustard? Right-wingers, why you continue to get your news from a liar and racist who says to love our military (he really doesn't) but never set foot in it is beyond me. Listen - you can't have it both ways. Either you're honest or you're not. Either you call a spade a spade or you don't. I might disagree with a lot of your politics, but please - when is enough enough? When will you stop playing politics and join the rest of humanity?

Tell me, Sean - what part of lying makes you a great American? By the way, we're still waiting to watch you get waterboarded.

Hal Lindsey is an a--hole.

I completed my daily news rounds, rifling through all the science, world events, and religious garbage I could in 2 hours. My last stop of the night, of course, was the WND where I found an article by Hal Lindsey blaming the current geopolitical, moral, and economic woes on President Obama. For those of you who may not know, Lindsey is a Christian Zionist and author of 14 books based on sensationalism and fear-mongering. He also thinks that President Obama is solely responsible for preparing the world for the Antichrist.

Lindsey states in his opening sentence:

"When I heard President Obama's speech yesterday in which he practically accused the former administration of war crimes, I had to go out into my yard and walk off my anger."

Apparently, Lindsey hasn't kept on current events over the past 8 years. We were lied to when it came to WMDs in Iraq, we were lied to when it came to Iraq's supposed procurement of yellow cake uranium in Niger, and we were lied to when we were told America does not torture. We were lied to when we were told that all detainees at Guantanamo were suspected terrorists (at least two-thirds weren't, but they are now), and we were lied to when we were told there was a connection between al Qaida and Iraq (there is now). I'm not saying that some of these people weren't terrorists, but I am saying not even half of these people were.

Perhaps Lindsey would like to be ripped from his home, family, friends, forced to confess to terrorism through waterboarding and sleep deprivation for days on end, then subsequently whisked away to a detainment camp in Afghanistan for 7 years. But I suppose that would be a human rights violation. Right, Hal? Do you wonder why some innocent terrorist suspects who have been cleared of all charges were found fighting after they were released? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.

Hal finishes his article by stating:

"May God save the United States of America from this kind of leadership that borders on criminal ignorance of the motivating factors of our most deadly enemy."

Need I remind you, Hal, of the numerous biblical verses that say God alone places men in places authority? How then, can we call the United States of America a true democratic republic, and what right do you have to criticize the decision of God?

Congratulations, Hal. You have revealed your true identity as yet one more brainwashed rightwing nutcase, as well as your inability to tell and discern the truth. For someone who gets their inspiration from the Bible, you certainly don't know it as well as you claim.

Right wing talking heads silent as troops go thirsty

In this news article released by KHOU in Houston, TX, it has been learned that troops have had to resort to theft from Kellogg, Brown, and Root (KBR) in order to attain safe drinking water. It tunrs out that the subsidiary of Dick Cheney's old company, Halliburton, has been hording water when they're tasked with the responsibility of distributing water to troops.

This is the same company that is responsible for faulty wiring that has been killing troops, and sanitizing water supplies so that the troops can have clean water for drinking, cooking, and showering. Instead, troops are constantly worried about pathogens and insect larvae in their water supply.

While troops endure daily temperatures over 120 F, dysentery, nausea, vomiting, and electrocution, KBR executives continue to rake in cash by the boatload. Contractors now outnumber troops by about 5 to 1.They have the luxury of leaving employers like Xe (formerly Blackwater USA), KBR, Halliburton, and Triple Canopy, but troops are bound by military law and enjoy no such luxury.

Where is the outrage from right wing blowhards like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Jim Quinn and Rose Tennent, and Glenn Beck? Where are you when your troops need you Neil Boortz? Where is your sense of patriotism Billy Cunningham, Joseph Farah, and Michele Malkin? Why don't you care about the suffering of our troops, Bill O'Reilly? Where are all the voices of "conservative" radio when American troops are dying from corporate negligence?

I know you all have books to sell, SUVs, condos, and yachts to afford, so you'd rather saw off your own testicles with a butter knife than rat out your corporate sponsors. But when is enough enough? When will you stop hiding behind the safety of your golden microphones and speak out about the evils of your own party and corporate interests? When will you finally become decent human beings, and start calling a spade a spade? Do you still wonder why the rest of the country is leaving your ranks? Is it any wonder why you had your asses handed to you last November?

If there really is a hell, there's a special place there waiting for all of you. You are all cowards and disgrace not only America, but the human race as well.

By the way, Sean, we're still waiting for your water-boarding to take place. Watch Sean get pwned by Charles Grodin in the clip below:

It's almost been a month now, Sean. What's the matter - are you scared, or are you just not patriotic?

Watch the clip below from "Iraq For Sale." If it doesn't anger you, you're not human.

Rightwing tax day lunacy

Last night, Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, made a guest appearance on Sean Hannity's show, simply named, "Hannity." It was the first interview Dr. Dobson made since he stepped down from his post at Focus on the Family. During the 15 minute interview Dobson and Hannity talked about everything from the trouncing the Republican party was handed by Democrats last November, to abortion, to marriage, to Christian influence on the United States.

If you haven't watched this tripe of an interview, as all of Hannity's interviews are, you can watch it here.

Hannity's borderline race-baiting commentary laid one attack after another on President Obama and the "mainstream" media, whatever that means. In total concurrence was Dobson. But it wasn't before long that Dobson's true colors revealed themselves.

Yesterday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a document regarding the growth of rightwing extremism in the US. In the document, the DHS warns that recruitment to extremist groups are on the rise, primarily due to the fact that we now have a black president in office. From page 2 of the 9 page document we read:
Threats from white supremacist and violent antigovernment groups during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts. Nevertheless, the consequences of a prolonged economic downturn—including real estate foreclosures, unemployment, and an inability to obtain credit—could create a fertile recruiting environment for rightwing extremists and even result in confrontations between such groups and government authorities similar to those in the past.

Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning.
Click here to read the document.

At one point in the interview Hannity targets the DHS for releasing a document that gives the rightwing a black eye, while inferring that President Obama is responsible for this document. He asks Dr. Dobson:
"The Department of Homeland Security, Dr. Dobson, is warning law enforcement officials about the rise in rightwing extremist activity...and I'm thinking, what do you think of that interpretation, especially coming from a guy that started his political career in the home of an unrepentant terrorist who bombed the Pentagon and capital and sat in Reverend Wright's church for 20 years?"
Dobson responded:
"Isn't it interesting that the media has jumped all over this when there aren't any examples of it? There are no Timothy McVeighs out there right now. They're making a big deal out of something that hasn't happened and may not happen. They were also saying today that when the troops come back from Iraq or Afghanistan that they're going to be a big problem because they have military training."
This proves to me that Dobson doesn't pay attention to recent events, or he is a liar - probably both. I can give Dr. Dobson two examples of right-wing, post-military paranoia that lead to the deaths of 5 people, and I don't even have to cross the Pennsylvania border, or even go back more than 2 weeks to do so.

On April 7th, an Iraq vet named Nicholas Horner robbed a Subway restaurant in Altoona. During the event he fatally shot 2 and injured 1. Horner just returned from Iraq after serving his third tour. And in Pittsburgh, Richard Poplawski shot and killed 3 police officers in Pittsburgh. Poplawski was kicked out of the Marine Corps after assaulting a drill sergeant. His mother stated that he had been stock piling ammunition, and was afraid that President Obama was going to take his guns away. Poplawski is also known to frequent racist websites.

No modern day McVeighs you say, Dr. Dobson?

So, an economic downturn leads to a rightwing nutjob robbing a Subway in which 2 people were killed, and the election of a black man leads to 2nd Amendment paranoia leaving 3 police officers dead. It turns out that the DHS does know what they're talking about after all.

One interesting note about that quote from Dr. Dobson; the transcript of the interview at Fox News quotes Dobson as saying, "Isn't it interesting that the media has jumped all over this when there are many examples of it?" It could be an honest mistake by the transcriber, but I seriously doubt it. Spin, is spin, is spin.

Later during the interview, Hannity and Dobson continue fellating each other, discussing how the Founders were Christian, and that this country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, and that we are a "Christian nation." According to Dobson, Christianity has "influenced our law, our constitution, and our way of life." I don't know about you, but I'm absolutely sick to death of hearing this. If our country is a Christian nation and founded on the gospel, why are our laws based on Roman and Iroquois law, our alphabet is Roman in origin? If our country was founded on the gospel, why doesn't our Constitution mention God, Jesus Christ, Jehovah, Yahweh, Yeshua, or any variation thereof? It doesn't even mention the term "Creator."

Later on in the interview, Hannity says:
"What did you think of Barack Obama's comments that America is arrogant, apologizing for America, and seemingly even apologizing for the Iraq war by saying well, we're not at war with Islam? Well, no one ever said we were at war with Islam, but radical Islam. What does that mean to you if a president of the United States — it sounds to me like he shares Wright's views that America's chickens have come home to roost?"
Dobson responded:
"It almost sounds like Jeremiah Wright in that instance, and you know there's been an understanding by presidents down through history, from the very beginning, that that kind of criticism does not occur, does not go beyond the water's edge, and for him to be on foreign soil with people who have been very, very critical of this country and its president and its military and its people, for him to make that statement deeply offended me. And what bothers me more is there wasn't a greater outcry to it than I would have expected."
It's not like we broke international law when we invaded Iraq or anything, Dr. Dobson. I can't imagine why rest of the world would be critical of the most powerful country on earth.

In short, we are an arrogant nation, Dr. Dobson. Take off your crimson-stained glasses and look at the world with your own eyes for once.

Meanwhile, over at God's news site, Roy Moore attacked President Obama after he bowed to Saudi King Abdullah. While he was eviscerating the president, he took the liberty of drawing a correlation between Christianity and the Navy SEALS who rescued the crew of the USS Maersk Alabama from pirates last week off the coast of Somalia. If you don't know who Roy Moore is, he's the racist judge who was removed from office after refusing to remove a statue of the ten commandments from the Alabama Supreme Court. He's also in favor of teaching creationism in public schools, and an fervent opponent of evolution. Over at the Panda's Thumb, there is an interview between himself and Chris Matthews of MSNBC. It's eye-opening. You might want to read it.

Anyway, I'm wondering if Moore and his clones are willing to take President Bush to task when he bowed to him as well in 2005. Or the fact that the bin Laden family helped finance his now defunct company, Arbusto Oil. Or the fact that his grandfather, Prescott Bush, helped finance Hitler's war machine from Wall Street.

Probably not.

Happy Tax Day!
